Am Thai is serving food that is fresh and feisty. Authentic Thai cuisine is given an ample dose of spice in a friendly atmosphere with a nice assortment of cocktails. Prices are pretty tame making this a popular spot for families in the area.
Start with the house chicken wings smothered in a sweet chili sauce, or dumplings stuffed with chicken or vegetables. A Winter Roll is packed with crispy duck, while the Summer Roll gets fresh vegetables, avocado and tofu with a tasty tamarind sauce. My personal favorite is the Som Tam salad piled high with green papaya, tomato and string beans with a refreshing peanut-lime dressing. Ask for extra chilies if you like it hot.
On the other hand, shrimp smothered a red curry sauce offer more than enough heat and had us reaching for a glass of water. Pad Thai is also done right with your choice of chicken, beef and shrimp. Vegetarian options are also available.
Crispy duck is cooked up several different ways, ranging from lemongrass and ginger to Asian red pumpkin in a spicy red curry. BBQ ribs are slow cooked with Thai herbs and served with a spicy mint salsa. Deep-fried whole red snapper in a chili basil sauce is another eye stopper.
Service is fast and friendly, while the food will have you coming back for more.
