BLT Burger is the perfect place for a burger with friends. BLT Burger is the perfect place to bring the kids. But you might have a problem if you're single. More on that in a moment. First, a bit about the place. When you walk in the first thing you'll notice is the hopping bar crowd, a standard at BLT. The restaurant itself has a real tavern feel with its wooden booths and tables, each with its own picture of a happy cow (I guess no-one told them what they're serving). Which brings us to the burgers. I tried the BLT ($11), a juicy double-decker of angus beef topped with apple wood smoked bacon. It was quite good, but got a bit messy at the end with two patties of sliding beef. A friend, who tried the turkey burger ($7), was very impressed that it was NOT dry and rubbery, a fate that has destroyed many a turkey burger. Maybe it has to do with the fact that all of the burgers are served rare to medium rare. But if you really want to splurge and go to burger heaven (I had to restrain my friend Chris when he saw it on the menu), then try the Kobe Burger made with 100% Japanese Kobe beef. But be prepared to drop 62 bucks for this five ounce patty. Now, that's a whopper! All of the sides are stupendous, from oversized vidalia onion rings to the waffle cut and sweet potato fries. Folks who don't eat meat have a choice of salads. And parents!!! Kids can eat here on the cheap! Try under $7 as you of course enjoy that kobe burger. And the little ones will love the choices; chicken fingers, a corn dog or grilled cheese with fries and a drink (including Shirley Temples and Lime Rickeys; an extra $3 gets your a milkshake.) We kinda felt like kids while we were there pigging out on our burgers and fries. BLT is a paradise for burger lovers and quite the steal. But the restaurant fills up quickly. And if you're a single diner you might be told to squeeze in at the bar. Is that fair? Probably not. Is it worth it? Let's just say... squeeze!
