Details:

It’s ironic that the space that once housed Risotteria on Bleecker Street is now home to another rice-centric restaurant called Clay Pot. The restaurant, which also operates a smaller spot on Saint Marks Place, is known for Hong King style dishes where rice is cooked in clay pots until in crisps up, similar to the crunchy bits found on the bottom of paella. It’s made with broccoli, corn, tofu and egg. Diners can then choose from a variety of toppings including shrimp, beef, pork belly, sausage and eel.  Sides range from pan-seared scallops and whole squid to salt baked quail eggs and pork belly served in a fiery chili sauce.  The corner space is bright and airy, and just like the East Village location, service is friendly.
