When is a burger not a burger? When it's a Crisp. Actually it's a crispy falafel in the shape of a burger topped with lettuce, tomato, pickle and American cheese. And while it may not fool meat lovers, it's a nice alternative for vegetarians. The restaurant is also serving up traditional falafel sandwiches (served in a pita or a salad bowl). There is one with cilantro pesto, avocado and a tomato salsa, while another boasts peanut sauce and sweet potatoes. Sandwiches sell for about $8 or $9 dollars apiece and can be accompanied by sides of hummus, french fries or a Greek salad. Aside from being good for you they are also good for the environment. Crisp uses packaging made from corn resin and, according to its website, its organic ingredients are delivered fresh daily.
