Thai chilies abound at Dee Daa, a modern casual dining restaurant in Flatiron, serving lunch and dinner. Inspired by the street foods of Thailand, Dee Daa, which means "joyful," serves traditional somtum and vegetable spring rolls along with soups and salads. The grilled chicken salad is a standout. The chicken, marinated in Thai spices, is moist and flavorful served on a huge bed of mixed greens, cabbage, sprouts and pumpkin seeds. It's served with a tangy soy dressing which can be ramped up with slices of red chili peppers served on the side. Chicken, beef, pork and shrimp are also available with your choice of noodles (pad thai, drunken and pad see-ew), curry or as a stirfry with jasmine rice. Several Thai-inspired teas are also available.
