Epstein’s is back on the Lower East Side after a two-year hiatus and so are the crowds. The new owners appear to be putting a greater emphasis on food. The kitchen is open for lunch, brunch and dinner. The menu features comfort dishes like Short Rib Chili with cheddar, Truffle Mac ‘n Cheese, and Disco Fries. Salads, burgers and Southern Fried Chicken (waffles extra) are also available. Cocktails include a Moscow Mule, Epstein’s Bloody Mary, and the Transfusion, made with Tito’s vodka, Sprite and a splash of grape.
