A Texas-style feast arrives in Downtown, Brooklyn. Hill Country Food Park is offering six different types of foods from retro trailers inside a sprawling space with picnic-style seating, string lights and ivy climbing up pillars. Additional seating is available on the mezzanine level where you will also find games like, Skee Ball, that are already a big hit with the kids. The "food park" offers a bit of everything, from breakfast items at South Congress Coffee & Donuts (including breakfast tacos and Du's Donuts) to Hill Country Barbecue (think ribs, brisket and smoked wings) and Fried Chicken (sold by the piece, in sandwiches, or, chicken & waffles). There is "Mex-Tex" at Nickie's, including homemade tamales, and farm-to-table salads and sandwiches at nearby Bluebonnets. At Austino's, an Italian stall, there are pizzas including one topped with with brisket, mozzarella, green onion, pickle, jalapeno and El Original Sauce. Hank's, meanwhile, will soon offer cocktails and live entertainment. Hill Country Food Park has a real, down-home country feel. Service we encountered was friendly and helpful. Breakfast is served daily starting at 7am; food stalls are open from 11am to 8pm. See more
