Cititour Review:

Hillstone is a great staple on Park Avenue. With classic American food and even fresh sushi, this restaurant caters to many different folks in Manhattan as well as all over the country. Locations include everywhere between Boston and Santa Monica. There is also another location uptown on 53rd.

The wait usually isn’t unbearable, however, they have a great bar equipped with tv sets for some pre dinner entertainment. The look is casual, though gentleman are always asked to kindly remove their hats before entering the dining room.

The wait staff is notoriously friendly and attentive at Hillstone. They always bring out the deliciously famous “Rockefeller” appetizer, spinach and artichoke dip with tortilla chips and salsa, in a timely fashion. Whatever you choose after that is going to be great, I guarantee it. There is a nice assortment of salad, although the pan seared ahi tuna salad with avocado and mango takes the cake ($18).

Hillstone makes some great burgers but even for meat eaters the house made veggie burger ($17) is a treat. It is by far the best veggie burger I have ever had, served with shoestring French fries or coleslaw.    Lots of fish make the entrée menu, like the miso glazed atlantic cod with rice and bok choy ($28). The bbq pork ribs ($28) and spit roasted chicken ($22) are solid meat options.

There is a fresh sushi menu with classic sushi rolls like spicy tuna. Things get funkier with the shrimp and macadamia roll and the coconut shrimp roll (both $14).No matter how full you find yourself after your meal at Hillstone, don’t hesitate to order the warm five nut brownie served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a champagne custard. All desserts are priced at $9 but this brownie is worth $50!

The back of the menu contains a lot of wine to choose from, like white and red wine, pinot noir, merlot, chardonnay, with several options for each. Draft beer is available too to go with your burger, and they make a mean bloody mary.
