The landmarked Childs restaurant building in Coney Island is now a massive food space called Kitchen 21. It's actually five different venues in one; Coney Island Cafe for grab-and-go items before heading to the beach, the Parachute Bar with 32 different beers on tap, Community Clam Bar with a selection of fresh seafood, Test Kitchen offering inventive new cuisine ideas, and a rooftop wine bar with ocean views called Boardwalk & Vine. The space itself is quite impressive with high ceilings, towering chandeliers, a huge bar and lots seating. The exterior of the building has also undegone an extension rehabilitation, restoring ornate terra cotta arches and images of tall ships and King Neptune. Kitchen 21 is located right next door to the Ford Amphitheater on the Coney Island boardwalk.
