Cititour Review:

One of my favorite spots for yakitori and sushi in Brooklyn is a place called Kushibar.  It's a bit off the beaten path on 60th Street in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn.  But the food never disappoints and neither do the ice cold beers.

Yakatori selections include Butabara or pork belly served on a skewer, and broiled quail.  The short ribs are also delicious although one plate is usually not enough.  But at just $3, it's easy to endulge.  Rarer picks include Kawa or chicken skin which is quite popular here and Kobe steak at $14.  Just don't expect huge portions.  I'm also a fan of Kushibar's rolls, expecially the shrimp tempura roll.  The shrimps are wrapped in crispy shredded wheat giving them some added crunch.  Sushi and sashimi are also offered, including whole fish sushimi.  It's also known for its noodles soups with braised oxtail or Japanese roasted pork.

Kushibar is great if you have the urge for yakatori but don't want to travel into the city, or a looking for some late night eats.  Large tables make it a great spot for groups, and the service is friendly.
