Cititour Review:

L’Express may put an American twist on French cuisine, but that doesn’t mean it has any less flavor! Situated on Park Ave South, this restaurant has a delicious location and the best part of what makes New York City so great: 24 hour operation.

Whether you crave some late night sustenance or even a nice lunch with friends, L’Express has a casual yet tasteful vibe. They offer several different menus; one for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, dessert, and graveyard. Many items remain the same throughout.

For lunch, the sandwiches are excellent. I had the trout sandwich on 7 grain bread and the fish tasted so fresh. The organic salmon fillet is delicious too, all served with fries. There is a selection of quiches and salads, such as the warm goats cheese salad ($8.95) with any meat add-in, as well as portobello mushroom, for $6.95

The menu is kicked up a notch for dinner. Start your meal in a traditional French way with the Onion Soup Gratinee ($6.95) or the fried calamari ($9.95).  Keep it French with some duck liver mousse ($9.95) or enjoy a classic Le Burger ($11.50)

The breakfast and brunch menu contain your average selection of lunch items and breakfast foods, such as eggs Benedict or Florentine ($10.25) or French toast ($7.95).    I myself am a huge fan of dessert, which happens to be available after every meal! Try the warm chocolate cake a la mode ($6.95) to conquer that sweet tooth.

L’Express offers great food at very reasonable prices. There is a drink menu with plenty of dessert wines, cognac, and scotch, however if you go late night, the alcohol ceases to flow.
