Cititour Review:

Landbrot Bakery & Bar is a neighborhood spot with big-time appeal. If you’ve ever wanted to experience German delicacies and don’t have the money for airfare, then look no further than Landbrot.  From traditional German pretzels to smoked ham to strudel there’s a little taste of Germany in every bite at this West Village spot.  Landbrot sets the mood with its nice and inviting décor. The service here is also top notch.  The workers are always polite and more importantly quick and precise with each order.

Landbrot is also versatile as it acts as a restaurant and bakery during the day, and when the sun goes down, a bar. They offer a variety of high quality German beers such as Höss Holzar draft ($6.50) and bottles of Schoenramer Gold ($13).  The beers can be a little pricey but the quality of the overall selection is unmatched compared with other New York City bars. The Black Forest Ham Sandwich ($11.50) seems to be a popular choice as far as food items go. The sandwich is made with emmental cheese and hothouse cucumbers, but the key is the Ciabatta bread, which compliments the ham perfectly.  The ham is smoky, light and delicious.  For those interested in other foods, Landbrot also has brats, schnitzels, salads, soups and a wide array of German desserts. Landbrot is definitely a place to check out if you're in the West Village or try their Lower East Side location.
