Chef Greg Baxtrom, owner of Olmsted in Prospect Heights, has partnered with Max Katzenberg to open Maison Yaki, pairing classical French cuisine with Yakitori. The result is Maison Yaki located on Vanderbilt Avenue near Prospect Place. Maison Yaki's menu begins with a section called "Foid" featuring dishes like Duck Rillette with Brioche and Salmon Mimosa Tartare. In a section called "Chaud" things like Tempura Frog Legs Provencal turn up, along with Escargot in Shiso Butter. As for the Yakitori, look for skewers of Duck Meatballs A L'Orange, Pork Belly Dijonaise, Lobster & Sauce Americaine, and Tuna Nicoise. Cocktails on tap include a Cherry Blossom Manhattan and Sake Negroni. >>
