Poke Chan, by Michelin-starred sushi chef Masashi Ito, is an Hawaiian poke spot with a Japanese twist. Several poke dishes are offered including The Classic, cubes of bright pink tuna with sweet onion, hijiki, and avocado (edamame in this case) with a wasabi-soy dressing. It's topped with seaweed salad, masago and sesame seeds and rests on a bed of warm rice or grains. Other choices include lobster salad, salmon, a combo of tuna & salmon, and tofu. You can buy from a list of recommended combinations or mix and match as you see fit. The space is well designed with a few tables and some counter seating. Poke Chan promises to be a welcome addition to New York City's booming poke scene.
