From the folks who brought you Franny's comes Rose's, a bar and grill on Flatbush Avenue in Prospect Heights. Start with a cocktail. Specialty drinks include the Tri-State made with Plymouth rum, honey crisp apples and salty tonic, or The Scotsman, a spicy Manhattan with maple bourbon and Caribbean bitters. Then, move onto some starters; fried olives stuffed with mortadella and parm, or maybe a wood-grilled mushroom sandwich with caramelized onion.
