Cititour Review:

There's something about ramen that makes for a perfect meal especially on a cold winter night.  Sapporo in Times Square is a popular destination for this traditional Japanese soup.  But be warned.  This place fills up quickly with tourists, so be prepared to squeeze into any spot that opens up.

There are several types of ramen on offer at Saporo, and while purists may snip at some of the ingredients, the soups are still quite flavorful and filling.    I usually go for the Miso Ramen. The broth is rich and spicy with flecks of red pepper throughout.  Dig a little deeper and you'll find a slice or two of roast pork, minced pork, sprouts and other veggies, and of course a thick layer of noodles.  While most of the soups are in the ten-dollar range, an $11 prix fixe will get you a side of fried pork dumplings.  Other dishes include pork or chicken cutlets with ton-katsu sauce, and marinated fried chicken over rice.  Beer and sake are also available.

Sevice at Sapporo is courteous and quick.  Remember to bring cash.  Credit cards are not acceped here.
