Smorgasburg's new Winter digs offers a wonderous assortment of foods worth digging into. Inside this cavernous 50,000 square foot space at Sunset Park's Industry City, which also houses the Brooklyn Flea, you will find more than 40 food vendors. Some with names you may already know, like Dough, with its super sweet doughnuts dripping with goodness, and Fletcher's BBQ, based in Gowanus, is selling its delicious dry-rub ribs and pressed pulled pork sandwiches.
At Santa Salsa they are cooking up Venezuelan street food; dishes like Perro con Todo (hot dog) with the works (onion, cabbage, ketchup, mustard, cheese, sweet corn sauce and potato chips). Each is meticulously made and delicious, albeit messy, to eat. There's also the Choripan, a chorizo sausage sandwich, also with the works.
You can dine on ramen behind a bright red curtain at the Ramen Shack, or get a Hong Kong style waffle cones, made from egg cake, at Wowfulls filled with all sorts of goodies. At Sunday Gravy, they are serving up meatball sandwiches; Muffuletta at Monk's Meats and chocolate chai ice cream at Alchemy Creamery.
So, for a taste of what New York has to offer, head to Smorgasburg at Industry City. Open weekends from October 17, 2015 to March 27, 2016.
