A quick glance at Sugarfina at Westfield World Trade and you might think you are entering an upscale art gallery. Look a little closer and you are in for some sweet surprises.
There are malt balls in flavors like strawberry milkshake and mint chip. And you will never look at gummy bears the same again. Here they are flavored with champagne. They are also masquerading as blackberries made with black currant juice bursting with antioxidants, and heart shapes with a layer of marshmallow called "love parfaits." Orange peel is smothered in dark chocolate. Chocolate pearls from Greece come in robin egg blue and polished white, and would make great wedding favors. Chocolate rings calls "Bling Rings" get a candy coating before being brushed with edible gold and silver. And what bartender wouldn't give up his stirrers for a box of martini olives made from white chocolate-covered almonds? These look like the real deal.
Some accessories we spotted included cone-shaped candles and sparklers.
Sugarfini takes its candy seriously, offering a bit of glam to party events. But glam comes at a price. Expect to pay a bit more for these sugary confections from the U.S and around the world.
