If you're one of the lucky ones to land a table at Ralph Lauren's new Polo Bar, what you will find is a classic American bar and restaurant that caters to more than just fashionistas. The polo theme carries through in this bi-level space with lots of earthy wood tones and white linen tables with fine china bearing the Polo name of course. It's also a place described in a New York Times piece as a hideaway for celebrities in full view. The menu isn't too shabby either. Cocktails include the Moscow Mule made with Tito's vodka, ginger and lemon, and the Vesper Martini; Purity Vodka, Monkey 47 Gin and Lillet Blanc. There's an Old Fashioned on the cocktails list and warmers like The Fred & Ginger with a hint of cinnamon. There are bar snacks too and comfort foods said to be among Ralph Lauren's favorites. Steaks and chops command hefty price tags. But not all dishes break the bank. Crab cakes and roasted chicken offer more affordable fare. You will also find the Polo Bar Burger topped with lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles and crispy bacon. A specialty of the house is Ralph's Corned Beef Sandwich with melted Swiss on marble rye served with a side of horseradish slaw.
