One of the best places for fresh oysters at one of the oldest oyster bars in New York City.
We counted at least 28 varieties the day we visited this 85 year old landmark deep inside Grand Central Terminal. You can spend hours slurping and drinking beer at the bar. Or get a table in the restaurant and enjoy a variety of fresh fish chowders and seafood dishes.
But we prefer to sit at the bar, which resembles an old style diner. Service can be a bit rushed and gruff at times, but it's all part of the ambiance.
Reservations are recommended for a table or wait at the bar until a table comes up. Turnover is pretty fast and the fish is fantastic.
