Cititour Review:

Michelin recommended Andy's Seafood & Grill is just a block from the subway, making it a quick ride from Manhattan to the perfect place to get your Sichuan and Taiwanese food fix without the crowds. Rego Park isn't known for its Asian food, though there's a fair amount there, and Andy's remains a hidden gem.

Most people will tell you to order the Taiwanese hamburgers; while you're there, why not? Succulent pork belly on fluffy white "mantou" (a plain bread that peasants ate back in the day in China), sugared peanuts, and cilantro, indeed you may well recognize these as an antecedent of the famous pork buns, but closer to its roots. But any of the starters - wontons slicked with spicy chili oil, cold sesame noodles, brraised pork belly over rice, served with pickled mustard greens and pickled daikon - would be a great start.

The Taiwanese section of the menu is small, but boasts a number of delights in addition to the Taiwanese hamburger. Fried pork chop over rice is familiar comfort, as is braised minced pork over rice. The rest of the menu is also delicious, but a particular favorite on a cold night is the Sichuan beef noodle soup: fiery red broth flecked with chiles, tender pieces of beef, and enough heat to make your nose run, it's the perfect way to stave off a cold.

The staff is friendly and helpful, too, so if you need suggestions on what to order, just ask.
