Bar Manje is a Caribbean restaurant and bar from Chef Kingsley John, taking over the space at Good Enough To Eat for dinner service seven nights a week. The project marks a full-circle moment for Kingsley and restaurateur Jeremy Wladis, who first worked together 35 years ago when Kingsley arrived from St. Lucia and was hired as a dishwasher in the same space. After rising through the kitchen ranks and working with acclaimed chefs including Charlie Trotter, Daniel Boulud, and Marcus Samuelsson, Kingsley returns to share the flavors of his Caribbean heritage. At 5 p.m. each night, the 80-seat dining room transforms with dimmed lights, music turned up, and tables covered in butcher paper stamped with the Bar Manje logo, creating a lively setting for the restaurant’s Caribbean-inspired fare.
