About:
This Brazilian Steakhouse in Midtown is known for its Picanha, Moqueca Baiana, and Feijoada along with its signature Caipirinha Bar. The Berimbau Brazilian Table draws its name from the berimbau, the one-string instrument central to Brazil’s capoeira tradition, and reflects Rio-born restaurateur Mario de Matos’ mission to share the rhythm, warmth, and flavors of Brazil in New York City. After launching Berimbau Brazilian Kitchen in the West Village in 2009, Mario expanded in 2024 with a larger, design-forward Midtown location on 36th Street. Executive Chef Victor Vasconcellos, a São Paulo native and former Michelin Bib Gourmand honoree for Caboco, leads the kitchen with refined takes on Brazilian classics like pão de queijo, picanha, feijoada, and moqueca. The restaurant is also home to New York City’s first dedicated caipirinha bar, alongside a curated wine and cocktail program. Brazilian Midcentury-inspired interiors and contemporary Brazilian art complete the immersive cultural experience.original location is in the West Village.
