Maybe David Bowie said it best with his iconic lyrics, “Putting out the fire with gasoline.” That seems to be the approach at Chuan Tian Xia, a Sichuan restaurant in Sunset Park serving up fiery Chinese cuisine in an equally vibrant space. Dishes range from the mild, like pineapple fried rice served in a carved out pineapple with pink shrimp dotted throughout, to flaming Chengdu dumplings served in puddle of chili oil and dried chilies. Ground pork appears atop a heap of noodles swimming in chili sauce. Mix it up, give the noodles a twirl and enjoy. Other specialties include hot & spicy crawfish, spicy duck stew with root vegetables, whole fish served several ways and Chongqing Spicy Chicken.
