DeLillo Pastry Shop was founded in 1925 by brothers Rocco and Giuseppe DeLillo, who brought the flavors of their hometown in Bari, Italy to the Belmont section of the Bronx. Located on East 187th Street in Little Italy, the bakery became a neighborhood fixture known for traditional Italian pastries and cookies. Over time, leadership transitioned to baker Luigi Florio, who joined in the 1960s, became head baker, and later a partner. Since 1984, the Florio family has continued operating the business, and in 2011 the shop expanded into a larger space, continuing its long-standing pastry tradition.
