Hani’s is a bakery born from memory and love shaped by Miro’s childhood, when his mother Hani filled their kitchen with homemade cakes that became cherished throughout their small town. Baking was her escape and greatest joy amid the demands of farm life, and although her dream of opening a bakery was cut short by war and terminal illness, Miro carried it forward after her passing, transforming loss into a promise fulfilled. Located in Astor Place across from The Cooper Union, Hani’s is an open and welcoming space that celebrates a childlike love for baking, inviting guests to enjoy coffee, pastries, cookies, or a birthday cake that stays with them for years, while feeling like a timeless neighborhood staple woven seamlessly into everyday life.
