Looking to feel your oats? Try OatMmeals. This tiny spot in Greenwich Village offers it every which way for breakfast, lunch and maybe an early dinner.
The main dish is a bowl of steel cut oats in three sizes; Baby Bear, Mama Bear and Papa Bear. At $4.25, the small size is a steal with two free toppings. I had mine with fresh blueberries and raspberries, but there are plenty of others choices. On the sweet side, try cinnamon roasted apples, maple syrup and candied lemon zest, while savory toppings include bacon, manchego cheese and sundried tomatoes.
Some signature dishes are filed under "Hot and Bothered." Pumpkin Pie gets a swirl of pumpkin purée, pecans, brown sugar and pumpkin spice. Indian Spice offers crystallized ginger, cardamom and vanilla, while "The Elvis" is made with peanut butter, banana, bacon, honey, and sea salt.
Freshly baked oatmeal pastries and other treats are offered, along with "Happy Endings" in flavors like strawberry shortcake, banana cream pie and s'mores.
