Chef Philip Guardione is bringing Sicily back to SoHo with the reopening of Piccola Cucina Osteria, now in a larger 900-square-foot space just steps from its original enoteca. The new 50-seat location at 196 Spring Street marks a homecoming for Guardione, who’s turning the spotlight on the flavors of his native Mount Etna. The menu is a heartfelt tribute to Sicily—think pane cunzato with primo sale cheese and cherry tomato purée, ruby-red prawn pasta, and almond granita made fresh daily with brioche col tuppo. Next door, the original Osteria is being reimagined as a Sicilian wine bar with over 4,000 bottles curated by sommelier Alfio Scrivano, making this one of New York’s most personal and authentic expressions of Sicilian cuisine and culture.
