Cititour Review:

The Burger Garage was actually meant to be the very first Queens burger that I ever devoured after moving two New York City. My original burger mission was to eat the supposed most notable burgers in New York City, a list upon which Burger Garage held a spot. But things don’t always go as planned, and the list was eventually abandoned in the face of the cities ever evolving burger landscape. But this month, I was finally able to see why this burger was lauded in the first place.

The Burger Garage looks as its name would suggest, like a cross between an actual garage and an old-style diner. It successfully straddles the line between cute and kitch. The staff was very friendly. Though the menu board was large and daunting, my eyes focused on the B.G. Burger, both because there was a rectangle around it, and because those are my initials!

The B.G. Burger is a quarter pounder with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, American cheese, and B.G. sauce on a potato bun. It was stacked high, and the bun was incredibly fluffy. These things made it more satisfying than a typical fast food quarter pounder would have been. The patty was grilled with expert precision, and had a nice, crisp taste. Though it wasn’t a flavor bomb worth immense praise, it was a burger under ten dollars in New York City that was worth a trip.

As I just mentioned, whenever I get a burger under ten dollars in NYC and feel as though it was worth my while, I’m happy. Burger Garage accomplished that goal.
