Cititour Review:

There is a lot to say for a favorite restaurant. The food is unquestionably delicious and the staff offers great service. A comfortable vibe surrounds the space and the price is affordable. The Grey Dog is undoubtedly a favorite. Nestled perfectly in NoLita, The Grey Dog is the cozy tavern that makes the ideal lunch spot.

Before you take a seat at your rustic, wooden table, which is marked by one of the restaurant’s uniquely colored scarves, your order is made at the counter. Inside its windows are gigantic cookies and beautiful country cobblers, all homemade.

Like with any great restaurant, the greatness lies in the food. Displayed above the counter in a colorful, rustic style, the menu contains a delicious range. I love the tuna melt; fresh tuna covered with loads of melted cheddar cheese. There are so many sandwiches to choose from like the chicken melt, doused with bacon, or great vegetarian sandwiches smeared with hummus and loaded with avocado. There are fresh salads with chunks of tuna steak, great burgers and even a hearty veggie burger.

Each day The Grey Dog offers a variety of homemade soups like the sweet and spicy carrot ginger. Never to be missed are the flaky, crispy sweet potato fries. I crave them constantly.

Every item found at The Grey Dog is reasonably priced, nothing on the menu is over $15. Before you go, fill up on a cup of joe, brewed in the restaurant with an earthy, nutty aroma.

The Grey Dog is a favorite restaurant; delicious, filling, and friendly. Come by for the lunch, the wooden bench outside is very inviting.
