Review:

The only thing missing from the Brooklyn Diner is Brooklyn. The restaurant is located on West 57th Street near Carnegie Hall. It has the look and feel of a 1950's diner with all of its Brooklyn chochkas and seats named after famous people. I think I sat in Tony Randall's seat. The food is a step above your ordinary diner fare. And while it's a great place for families, Brooklyn Diner is on the pricey side. Its popular 15-bite hot dog costs about a buck per bite, but it is a full meal that comes loaded with onion rings and sauerkraut for $14.50. On my visit, I enjoyed a very tasty Maryland Crab Cake Club Sandwich, which looks more like a crab burger. It's served with sugar-cured bacon and an enormous side of shoe-string potatoes for $18.95. Also on the menu, you'll find a Cuban-style skirt steak ($19.95), Booklyn "Dodger" Brisket ($17.95), Meatloaf ($17.50) and Pigs in a Blanket ($8.50). Desserts include a double chocolate pudding pie ($7.75) and an old fashioned banana split ($8.95). Now, if they could just move the place to Brooklyn!
