Esca gets a new look, new menu and a new partnership. The seafod spot, on 9th Avenue in Hell's Kitchen, getting a makeover from Chef David Pasternack and business partner, Victor Rallo. Flavors of the sea dominate. Look for dishes like Diver Scallops with house made tangerine pressed olive oil; Razor Clams with chili, scallion and mint; and a Crudo Tasting offering six distinct tastes of raw seafood. Antipasti brings Grilled Portuguese Octopus with gigante beans in a balsamic vinaigrette, and Baked Local Clams with Serrano lardo and fresh peppers. There's a half dozen or so pasta dishes on the menu, including Fedelini with grandma's crab sauce. Larger plates bring a Sicilian seafood stew, Berkshire pork chops and a 24 day dry-aged prime sirloin with frizzled onions. Dessert feature sweet treats like ricotta and rosemary churros and meyer lemon olive oil cake.
