Harry's is hitting the refresh button. The Wall Street institution has a new, more glamorous look and taste. Inspired by the sixties steakhouse, Harry's boasts suede booths with alligator trim and a sprawling Art Deco light fixture. Since its opening in 1972 by Harry Poulakakos, Harry's has had a special connection with the community it serves. His son, Peter, and HPH Hospitality, are hoping to continue that legacy. They've brought in Executive Chef Joe Mallol, of Le District and Dead Rabbit, to create a menu that breathes new life into classics such as Beef Wellington, Lobster Thermidor, Squid Ink Linguine Shrimp Scampi and Dover Sole Meunière, which is filleted tableside. USDA prime steaks, dry aged for 28 days in-house, are available along with a Harry's favorite, Porterhouse for two. Desserts include Warm Dutch Apple Crumble, "Cookie & Cream Skillet," and Harry's build-your-own sundae (Another version is spiked with espresso and 12-year-old malt scotch).
