Seed + Mill
Who would have thought sesame seeds could be so hot. At Seed +Mill partners Lisa Mendelson, Monica Molenaar and Rachel Simons have turned their passion for food into creating desserts made from freshly ground tahini at Chelsea Market. The result is large rounds of halva sold by the slice starting at a quarter pound. This Middle Eastern treat is made by mixing tahini with sugar and stirring in things like pistachios. At Seed + Mill there are more exotic flavors including sea salt dark chocolate, coffee, chocolate & orange, apple, and white chocolate raspberry. Tahini based ice creams are also available. Seed + Mill is also available at several other gourmet shops and Whole Foods around the city.
