The sign outside reads, “Feed me tacos and tell me I’m pretty”. Inside, Taco Electrico feels more like a disco than a taco joint. The subterranean space is dimly lit with neon bars splashed across the ceiling. Located diagonal to Union Square at 17th Street and Park Avenue South, Taco Electrico boasts a full bar with a focus on tequila and mexcal drinks, with table seating for small and large groups. Menu offerings include guac & chips, sweet corn fritters known as esquites, and chicken tinga empanadas. Tacos range from skirt steak with pico de gallo to Baja-style cod and pork belly topped with pickled red onion. Churros with sweet milk and housemade ice pops, or paletas, provide a sweet finish.
