Review:

The Dutch is a perennial favorite in New York City.  Chef Andrew Carmellini's cozy spot it SoHo is known for comfort foods. The space is also comforting with its brick arches and large windows looking onto Sullivan Street. The service is impeccable. Brunch brings things like matzo ball soup with baby shitake mushrooms, parmesan and dill. Fried chicken, golden and crispy, is served with two glorious biscuits smothered in honey butter. Hanger steak, served rare, gets a helping of spicy kimchi fried rice topped with a farm-fresh egg. A double cheddar burger, almost too big too handle, is topped with spicy pickles and a secret sauce with a side of crispy fries. It's a real crowd pleaser. If you are looking for something more breakfasty, there are "Banana split" waffles with vanilla ice cream, and cornmeal flapjacks, light and airy, served with blueberry syrup and salted butter.
