Cititour Review:

Disco Tacos, a new restaurant serving tacos, natural wine and disco vibes has opened in Williamsburg. The eatery, which is located at 80 N 6th St, offers tacos and small plates from Colombian-born executive chef Felipe Donnelly, as well as margaritas, mezcales and natural wines, all curated by Donnelly’s wife and co-creator sommelier Tamy Rofe. (Mac Osborne is the third member of the eatery’s creative team.) The restaurant offers a colorful, 40-seat outdoor space for dinner and weekend brunch, as well as 20 seats inside a modern industrial dining room, which is lined with wall-to-wall horizontal windows. The sleek cement feature multi-colored neon signs, one-of-a-kind art pieces by local Brooklyn artists, and a collection of framed album art from the team’s favorite 70s and 80s vinyl records.

The menu, inspired by Donnelly’s Latin American heritage and travels, include such appetizers as Disco Fries, tossed with a signature blend of Mexican spices and herbs; Grilled Mexican Corn, served on the cob with cotija cheese, mayo, lime and chili powder; and Queso Fundido Con Rajas, with roasted poblano peppers, caramelized onions, melted chihuahua cheese and corn tortillas. Tacos include Roasted Cauliflower with salsa matcha; Pork with coffee-rubbed carnitas, al pastor sauce, grilled pineapple, coleslaw, cilantro and diced onions; Baja-Style Fish with coleslaw, salsa verde, cilantro and diced onions; Garlic Shrimp with chipotle cream, refried beans, cotija cheese and avocado; La Gringa, with pork adobada, chihuahua cheese, cilantro and diced onions; and Steak & Cheese with carne asada and chihuahua cheese.

In addition, diners can enjoy shareable plates like Chilaquiles, made with corn tortilla chips, salsa, crema, chihuahua cheese and avocado, and The Hungry Toddler, made with guajillo marinated skirt steak served over rice, beans and avocado and accompanied by tortillas. Finally, summer-friendly desserts include Paletas by La NewYorkina, the quintessential Mexican popsicle, and Churro Donuts, which are dusted with cinnamon-sugar and served with Mexican dipping chocolate.
