Cititour Review:

For a Sunday brunch that can’t be beat, make the trip to Juliette, located just a couple of blocks from the Bedford Avenue L train (Bedford and North 5th Street).  The atmosphere will practically dazzle you—I felt as though I had slipped from states-side to a classy Paris bistro.  The main dining room is illuminated by natural light through a greenhouse- style ceiling with potted vines trailing down from above, which gives the place a romantic, old-country feel. There is also a beautiful outdoor dining patio on the roof, which is open during the warm seasons.

The service is snappy, friendly, and very helpful.  I was impressed with how quickly everyone in our large party was served.  The brunch is certainly the highlight of the restaurant, with options in the $11-$14 range.  The Tunisian Breakfast ($12) is an excellent option: it comes with two fried farm eggs, toasted semolina bread, chickpeas, wilted spinach, piquillo pepper & harissa (a delicious spicy sauce).  For a distinctly French experience, try the Croque-Monsieur, a ham & swiss cheese on homemade brioche (with home fries), or the Croque-Madame (comes with an egg).  My personal favorite is the Roasted Banana French Toast ($13), which is a French toast that has somehow been stuffed with roasted bananas, candied, toasted walnuts and homemade maple syrup.  My mouth waters just thinking of it!

For a fancy drink, I recommend the L’Orange Juliette (Solerno blood orange, Amaretto, Frangelico, fresh orange juice and club soda).  The chic setting and the service here definitely make it worth every penny.  Bon appetit!
