On a light and breezy corner in Prospect Heights you will find Alta Calidad, Chef Akhtar Nawab's modern Mexican spot for drinks and bites. The food is vibrant and flavorful and worthy of a visit. Look for things like Roasted Mahi Mahi Tacos with mango salsa, pistachio mole and crispy shallots; Crispy Tempura Shrimp Tacos with chorizo and celery root remoulade; Pumpkin Blossom Quesadillas with Oaxaca cheese and ancho chile; and Charred Steak Tacos with crispy chihuahua cheese and tomatillo salsa. Other offerings including tortilla tostadas with guacamole, yucca "tater tots," and delicata squash beignets with sesame crema.
