Spectacular East River views abound at American Brass in Long Island City, from the team behind Maiella located beneath the giant Pepsi sign. The bistro spans some 14,000 feet featuring custom brass light fixtures, mosaic tilework, leather banquettes, and a U-shaped stone bar. Warmer weather brings al fresco dining in full view of the Manhattan skyline. Seafood abounds whether it’s oysters and clams from the raw bar or charcoal-grilled octopus, a cheesy oyster gratin and more. Not into seafood? Check out the cherry-glazed barbecue ribs, a smoked cowboy ribeye or some rotisserie suckling pig. Signature sides take advantage of farm-fresh Long Island corn with a savory crème brûlée. There's also spicy apple smoked bacon. And who could resist banana cream pie or Baked Alaska for dessert. Kids can also get their hands on some cotton candy.
