Cititour Review:

There are those of us who remember when Burger King’s “Have It You Way” was a radical concept of ordering and those who have never known anything other than the customization process. Both groups of people will be plenty satisfied at BRGR, the brand new and very appealing David Rockwell-designed eatery where former Moomba owner Chris Russell has found the ideal way to please fans of the all-American meal. The drill is fairly simple: choose from organic beef, turkey, or veggie burgers, decide if you want a single patty (about five ounces, which is quite enough), double or triple, white or whole wheat bun, and then pick from over a dozen toppings and sauces, which include an excellent onion marmalade, goat cheese, avocado, and the house’s special BRGR sauce, which features mustard, ketchup, relish, mayo and other tasty ingredients. The only bad news (well, for me) is that the house does the burgers medium well; the results were still surprisingly juicy, but I am a rare kind of guy. The decision-making gets much simpler after the burger part. There are just three sides – nicely done russet fries, yummy semi-thin sweet potato fries, and addictive onion “hay” (paper-thin onion rings) – and while two can share just one order, be a sport and try them all. Drinks are limited to sodas and fresh lemonade, though beer and wine is on the way. And yes, there’s even dessert: superb milkshakes made with Ronnybook Farm milk in a small variety of flavors, ranging from chocolate/vanilla to blueberry-pomegranate, and ultradelicious homemade chocolate chip cookies. They’re a tad pricey at $1.10 per cookie, but they are still worth every penny and every calorie. Even the aspiring fashionistas from nearby F.I.T. will be ordering them!
