What do you get when you combine three thermal pools, 2 saunas, steam room and 5 massage rooms with a restaurant by day and bar at night? It’s the Bathouse, of course, located on North 10th Street in Williamsburg. Housed in a 1930 soda factory, Bathhouse is offering a fun, communal space whether you are looking to stay fit or looking for a cocktail. Elements of the soda factory, which once housed the Brooklyn Bottling Company and Dr. Brown’s Soda, have been meticulously preserved including vaulted ceilings, original brickwork and a former 100-foot-tall smokestack which now serves as a private ritual bath area. The food is Eastern European. Crafted by chef Nejc Šeruga (Eleven Madison Park, Agern and 21 Greenpoint), dishes include Gulf Shrimp with yuzu aioli, Bitter Greens Salad with dates and sunflower seeds, Black Bass with parsnip, kale and puffed quinoa, and Crispy Chicken Skin with farmer’s cheese and salmon roe. Cocktails feature homemade shrubs and a curated list of hand-infused vodkas. The can be enjoyed at the bar straight or made into a martini. Meanwhile, a striking custom concrete walkway flanked by giant infinity mirrored boxes leads guests through the well-appointed locker room areas before descending to the 6,500 square foot subterranean bathhouse. An array of cedar wood saunas and a steam room with custom lighting inspired by the night sky create a means the perfect spot for social interaction. >>
