The flavors of Africa come alive at Berber Street Food on Carmine Street. Straw bowls filled habanero peppers add a pop of color as you enter. But it's the food that really turns up the heat. The African street foods include Accara, crispy balls similar to falafel, made with ground black-eye peas and topped with a spicy tomato-onion sauce. Calypso Jerk Wings are plump and juicy served with a fresh mango cilantro salsa. Also on the menu, Kafta Meatballs, Senegalese Empanadas made with beef, chicken or vegetable curry, and the Marrakech Vegetable Tagine with root vegetables, couscous and turmeric sauce. Assorted sandwiches and bowls are also available. Service is friendly and helpful.
