A barn in New York City? Former Waldorf Astoria chef John Doherty has teamed up with childhood friend, Tom Struzzieri, to create the Black Barn, serving American classics in a rustic atmosphere. Look for dishes like farm-foraged mushroom toast, a wood-grilled angus rib-eye with chimichurri sauce and slow cooked ribs with an orange-chipotle rub. Entrees are in the $30-range. Tavern prices are easier on the wallet and include a grilled burger, pork belly chicarrones and roasted chicken pot pie.
