Cititour Review:
This tiny and I do mean "tiny" spot in the East Village proves that you don't have to spend big to eat big in Manhattan. But you will have to make some sacrifices. You will literally have to squeeze into this Venezuelan spot which seats about ten people comfortably and another four uncomfortably at the bar. This is not a place for large groups. But it is definitely worth it. Once inside you'll find a delicious assortment of arepas, a Venezuelan bread made of corn flour. You can eat them plain or pick from one of the many fillings, like the La Paisa made with a mild white cheese or the chunky chicken and avocado that will leave you wanting more. The arepas sell from about two bucks to a little more than $4. One or two can easily make a meal. They also offer a nice assortment of empanadas, and Cachapa, a sweet corn pancake stuffed with cheese. The folks at Caracas Arepa Bar say their food is cooked with a dash of love. We believe them.
