In the shadow of the Manhattan Bridge is Celestine, a chic restaurant located on the DUMBO waterfront. Executive Chef Sean Froedtert is drawing inspiration from the Mediterranean coast. Think assorted mezze like Labneh with roasted grapes, Moussaa with eggplant and stewed tomatoes, and Za'atar flatbread with extra virgin olive oil and sesame.
Small plates bring Lamb Skewers with cucumber yogurt and zesty lemon, Roasted Beets with horseradish goat cheese and market berries, and P.E.I. Mussels in a Calabrian chili butter/wine sauce. Mains bring Pork Milanese with stone fruit, red watercress, and whole grain mustard pan sauce; Fennel Roasted Half Chicken; and Lobster Tagliatelle with Beurre Blanc sauce.
Celestine also offers a nice assortment of locally brewed beers, including several from Brooklyn, along with classic cocktails, and wines from France, Italy and Spain. The restaurant is located in a stylish, environmentally-friendly Leed Gold Certified building featuring stunning East River views.
