New Yorkers are passionate about their food, but especially their pizza. There are many styles prevalent in the city, and Forcella has captured the hearts of those who vie for the traditional Neapolitan style. Everything about Forcella, from its Neapolitan oven, Caputo flour and homemade mozzarella, comes directly from Italy, including the chef. Giulio Adriani, a native of Naples himself, brings all of these components together in Williamsburg and NoHo to create not only traditional pizzas, but the montanara (10), a flash-fried margherita pizza reminiscent of Neapolitan traditional fried pizza. Other menu items are less tauted but also worth trying, including traditional margherita (11), truffled white pizza (15) and the Fuorigrotta (14), with mozzarella, lemon, arugula and pecorino. Two stuffed fried pizzas, one with smoked mozzarella, ricotta and soppressata (14) and the other with escarole, olives, capers and anchovies (10) are also on the menu. Pizza takes center stage, but there are other menu items worth considering, like freshly imported burrata cheese (14) and seasonal salads to accompany the pizzas. The décor is simple: exposed brick and mirrors, lending place of pride to the oven itself, which, along with the pizzaiolo's four prestigious pizza-making awards, draw customers to both locations. - Emily MonacoLocation:
