Joo Ok is a two-Michelin-starred Korean fine dining restaurant located on the 16th floor at 22 West 32nd Street, offering a 12-course tasting menu rooted in seasonality and tradition. Founded by Chef Chang-ho Shin, the restaurant — whose name means “threading precious jade marbles” — blends locally sourced ingredients with refined Korean techniques in an elegant, Hanok-inspired setting. Central to its philosophy is an in-house fermentation program, with all jang (Korea’s foundational sauces) made by hand using traditional methods, along with produce grown at its upstate Bloomingburg farm, where herbs and perilla for its signature cold-pressed oil are cultivated.
