Koyo New York
Kōyō, an omakase restaurant, can be found in Astoria. Executive Chef Darry Liu (Eleven Madison Park, Shuko) is offering two concepts under one roof. There is an eight-seat omakase bar featuring seasonal ingredients imported from Japan. Here diners will experience a sushi focused omakse menu ($135) including Golden Eye snapper with Yuzu zest and Tuna Belly with wasabi. In the ten seat dining room, a kaiseki omakase ($175) offers seasonal ingredients with small plates ranging from Shirako Tempura and Bluefin Toro Tartare to Kaluga Caviar and Burgandy Truffles (shaved tableside) on milk toast. Grilled and smoked items are also being served, along with Tasmanian Ocean Trout. Wine, craft beers and unique sakes are also being showcased by the glass or bottle. The space, with natural wood accents, also includes an eight-seat white marble chef's counter looking onto an open kitchen.
