A casual home away from home. That's how Chef Vincent Fraissange and his wife, Cat Alexander, envision their new restaurant, Phaesant, in East Williamsburg. The Coastal-Mediterranean menu features simple, honest cooking with seasonal ingredients. Look for dishes like Lemon Sardines, Wild Gulf Shrimp with chili, white wine & butter, Crispy Chicken Wings with smoked chilies & yogurt, Pork Belly with sweet & sour onions, and Roasted Octopus with tarbais beans, fennel, mint and olives. A refurbished ornate door from the 1920s serves as the entry to the space with a lush mix of live plants. An outside garden patio beneath a purple-leaf plum tree is available during warmer weather.
